Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. How do I start a Singles or Doubles match?
From the main screen, tap New Game. Choose between Singles or Doubles, select your target score (standard BWF is 21 points), pick the initial server, and enter player names. Tap Start Match to launch the live interactive court.
2. How does court positioning and server tracking work?
BScore strictly implements official Badminton World Federation (BWF) rules:
- The serving player is highlighted with a shuttlecock badge and illuminated box.
- In doubles, court rotations and receiving diagonal boxes update automatically when points are scored.
- Even scores serve from the right court; odd scores serve from the left court.
3. How do I connect and score from my Apple Watch?
Install BScore on both your iPhone and paired Apple Watch. Once a game is active on your phone, open the BScore watch app:
- Tap the top card to score for Side A.
- Tap the bottom card to score for Side B.
- Use Undo to revert a mistaken point.
- Use Switch to swap court ends.
Both devices communicate via Apple's native WatchConnectivity in real time.
4. How do I connect and score from my Wear OS Smartwatch?
Ensure your Wear OS smartwatch is paired with your Android phone. Launch the BScore watch app from your watch's app launcher. It will instantly connect via the Google Play Wearable Data Layer and reflect the ongoing game. You can score directly from your wrist with tactile vibration feedback.
5. Can I undo a point or change court sides?
Yes! Tap the Undo button on either the phone or the watch to reverse any score or rotation mistake. Tap Switch Ends to swap court sides at intervals or between games.
6. Does BScore require an active internet connection?
No! BScore is an offline-first application. All scores, player rosters, and match statistics are stored locally on your device. Phone-to-watch synchronization works over direct Bluetooth and local wireless communication without requiring cellular or internet access.
7. How do I delete player rosters or reset data?
Navigate to the Players screen to edit or remove player profiles. You can also clear past matches from the Scores screen or uninstall the application to remove all stored data.
Troubleshooting Smartwatch Sync
If your smartwatch does not immediately display the ongoing match:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and watch.
- Confirm that BScore is open on your phone with a match actively started.
- On the watch, tap anywhere on the screen or relaunch the app to trigger an instant state refresh.
